Cynthia’s Sugar Cookies

1 1/3 cups shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
8 tsp. milk
3 cups sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
Thoroughly cream shortening, sugar, and vanilla. Add eggs and milk; beat till light and fluffy. Sift together dry ingredients; blend into creamed mixture. Cover and chill.Form into 1 inch balls. Roll in sugar. If desired, flatten each by pressing with fork tines. Bake at 375o about 10-12 minutes.
